Time isn't wasted when you're getting wasted

This Thursday I'm off to Lost Village festival near Lincoln. I consider myself a bit of a festival veteran and this is my absolute favourite. I went for the first time last year and felt just like Alice when she goes down the rabbit hole. Everything about the way they dress the festival is magical, the people are so lovely and there's so many fun things to both night and day. The food is amazing too! Here I am rocking a flower crown I made there, as you can see from my fringe this is probably day 3 or 4! Now I've finished my big festival shop I thought I'd share my top ten festival tips. 1. Be honest with yourself about who you are and how you are - just because your mates are all going to a certain festival doesn't mean you should go with them if you hate the music. Maybe you're more suited to paying the extra for boutique if you're a diva. I hate mornings, I can be grumpy and I need down time. Lost Village suits me because there's more chilled act

One year older, still feeling sorry for myself

On Monday I turned 29. I won't lie to you it was a pretty glamorous birthday and I did have a brief moment of thinking so this is what getting older is about. Beautiful blue sea, a boat trip, unlimited wine, hot boys chatting to us. It was a dream. I am paying for those life choices now. I was in Malta on my birthday after going to Lost & Found festival. If I've taken one thing from the whole experience it is that I am too fucking old for these kind of holidays. I couldn't cope with sharing my space with loads of girls, I am basically crippled with illness because a week of partying has shot my fragile immune system to pieces and I got described as an 'older woman' on more than one occasion. I know you too will be shocked by that last statement, as someone who has regularly been told I look 24 (by other men also trying to get in my pants) I was appalled. I'm meant to be celebrating my birthday a second time this Saturday (I never have just one birthday c

Staring down the 30 barrel...my turning 30 bucket list

And so it begins... So I've been planning to write a blog for quite a while. Originally it was going to be about my new life in Manchester but my friend joked no one would want to read about the boring things I get up to and I got cold feet. I'm not really new anymore so I guess this is just a blog about my life in Manchester, being hopelessly single, dating and what's going on with me. I thought I'd open with a list (love a good list!) that I was going to keep private. I'm 30 next year!! And decided recently to make a 30 wish list - 30 things I'd like to have done by 31. I really should have started earlier and got them done before 30 but it's better late than never! 1. Climb a mountain. I don't know why really, I' ve just always fancied climbing a mountain. I don't own any climbing boots and I'm terribly unfit so preferably a small one. Google tells me the smallest one is Moel Siabod, Snowdon, Wales so maybe I'll aim for that.
